If your child is between the ages of 3 years to kindergarten age and you have concerns regarding their development or performance in one or more of the following areas: vision and hearing, motor control/coordination, behavior/social skills, speech/language skills or thinking/performing tasks, please contact the Early Learning Center Office @ 364-2447 ex5000 or 364-8473 to schedule an appointment for a Child Find Screening. Screenings are conducted on a monthly or bi-weekly  basis depending on need and are held at the Early Learning Center. Our next Child Find Screening will be Friday, April 3rd.

For children kindergarten age through 21 years, please contact your local school and ask to speak with your child’s teacher and/or the special education teacher regarding your concerns.

We will be doing the -High Hat- “Look and Listen” in all the classrooms.

Ms. M Hernandez and Ms. Alma – 4 years old

Monday – Children will be painting a kite focusing on the diamond shape and will be learning different colors.

Tuesday – We will be going to a fieldtrip to the library.

Wednesday – We will be matching numbers

Thursday – We will be having our yellow celebration.

Ms. Diana and Ms. Elena – 4 years old

This week we are learning about “Dental Care”

What do we use teeth for, teeth should be brushed after each meal, hygienist helps dentist, dentist helps clean our teeth, when they make a picture of our teeth they are doing an x ray.  Children will make a splatter painting using a toothbrush, splatter screen and paint. They will also make their teeth using home made clay.

Also they will make a dentist heat to wear for the “Dental Care Play”

This week we are also going to visit the Public Library with the a.m. and p.m. classes.

Finally children will make a dental floss painting, using dental floss and paint.

Ms. Maria and Ms. Nicole – 4 years old

This week we will be learning about opposites.  We will read several books to understand the concept of opposites and they will make their own opposite book.

We’ll also red The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss and use feet diagrams to measure each other.  We’ll divide the class into groups so the students can figure out by what type of shoe they’ve been sorted and  make a class shoe graph.  On

Wednesday out class will also be going on a field trip to the Douglas Library!
