Nationally known poet to visit

Renowned poet William Pitt Root will talk about his work during a free poetry reading Monday, March 30 at the Sierra Vista Campus of Cochise College.


  Root is the author of nine books, including The Storm and Other Poems, Faultdancing, Invisible Guests, and Reasons for Going it on Foot. His work has been published in “Poetry,” “The New Yorker,” “Nation,” “Harpers,” and the “American Poetry Review.” It has been translated into 20 languages, broadcast over “Voice of America,” and funded by the Guggenheim and Rockefeller foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts, Stanford University, and the U.S.-U.K. Exchange Artist Program.

Root’s presentation will be from 4:45 to 6 p.m. Monday in the Andrea Cracchiolo Library on the Sierra Vista Campus. It is free and open to the public.
