Friends of the Library Book Sale April 17 The Friends of the Douglas Public Library are delighted to announce their annual Spring Book Sale. Friends members can attend a special preview sale on Thursday, April 16, at 5:00 PM. This year’s sale will be held in a different venue, in the Phelps Dodge Building at 1012 G Ave. Victoria Yarbrough, Douglas City Librarian, remarked, “Without the support of our community and the Friends, we wouldn’t be able to provide such wonderful events as our children and teen Summer Reading Programs. Thank you for all of your support!” Friends President, Maryelizabeth Hart, commented, “We are delighted to be able to offer extended hours and have the chance to draw some walk-by traffic in the Phelps Dodge building. With the economic climate, we know the support of the Friends is particularly important to the Douglas Public Library, and the many services it provides to our community. And readers will have the opportunity to support the library they love, and acquire some great reading at bargain prices!” Readers with gently used books, magazines, or audio or video media to donate to the sale should have all materials to the library by Friday, April 10.
