University artist to give public lecture at Cochise College
Paul Ivey, a professor of modern and contemporary art, theory and criticism, will give a talk about modernism and post-modernism in painting at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 in Room 811 at the Sierra Vista Campus of Cochise College. The lecture is free and open to the public. Ivey teaches at the University of Arizona. His research interests include religion in the American-built environment, as well as contemporary art history theory. He is the author of “Prayers in Stone: Christian Science Architecture in the United States 1894-1930.” He has lectured widely to scholarly audiences on Christian science architecture, outsider art, and theosophical communities.
