Helen Byrne Perine of Pearce/Sunsites, AZ died at home on April 3. 2009 at the age of 92.


 She was born in Zion, PA on November 4, 1916 to Merril M. and Lulu Grace Hoy Weaver.

Helen was a graduate of Bellefonte, PA high school and Potts Business College in Williamsport, PA. She worked at the Arizona State Employment Service for 17 years as Secretary and Employment Interviewer. Helen lived in Tucson with her husband Bill Byrne for 31 years where she was active with the Cholla Business & Professional Women’s Club and the league of Women Voters, upon Bill’s retirement they moved to Paradise, AZ for 21 years.

 In 1996 they moved to Sunsites. Helen was a member of the Community Church of Sunsites, Elk Does of Douglas, a member of the DAV Auxiliary and the Cochise Stronghold Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Byrne on October 4, 2002

.On July 30, 2005 in Sunsites she married Keble Gardner Perine who survives her.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania and 6 grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be 1:30 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Paradise Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary & Crematorium of Willcox, AZ.
