Soccorro “Lily” Reyes

Socorro “Lily”- “Mamy Lily” Reyes passed away peacefully in her home on April 17, 2009.


She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Mamy Lily was born on March 13, 1933 in Morenci, AZ to Juan and Isidra Sosa.

Preceding her in death are her parents,   brother Jose Luis Sosa, sister Anita Sosa and great-grandson Renatito Ramirez.

Surviving are her son Pablo Reyes, daughter Yolanda (Bony) Reyes-Rico, brother Alberto (Socorro) Sosa, and sisters Consuelo (Manuel-deceased) Machado, Dolores (Benjamin) Stevens, Elvia (Carlos-deceased) Garcia, and Lupita Sosa. Also surviving are grandchildren Veronica, Rocio, Pablo, Tony, Toto, Bianka, Boobie, Josh, Giovanni, and Paulina, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Lily was well known in the community as a good mother and hard working woman. She was a retail merchant at El Nuevo Progreso in Agua Prieta, Sonora, MX. She worked many years for Billy the Kid in Douglas, AZ. Lily devoted much of her time to St. Luke Catholic Church and was a church cursillo member. Mamy Lily dedicated her time to cooking for friends and family, enjoyed walking, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering her time for the church fiestas. She was adored by many and will be greatly missed. Mamy Lily we love you. 

Rosary was, Monday, April 20, 2009-7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection was, Tuesday, April 21, 2009-10:30 a.m.  at St. Luke Catholic Church. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Pablo Reyes Sr., Pablo F. Reyes, Tony Reyes, Pablo A. Reyes, Joshua Reyes, Giovanni Reyes, Bony Rico, Tyson Baumgartner, Louie Villalobos, Alberto Sosa, Benjamin Stevens, Benjamin Stevens Jr., and Luis Angel Villalobos. Care was entrusted to Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel, 364-2121, Funeral Director Alex Espinosa.
