Marie Alla McNew, 82, passed away on April 4, 2009. 


Marie was born in Bell Buckle, Tennessee and grew up in Toledo, Ohio.  She later moved to Mt. Clemens, Michigan where she met and married William E. McNew who was stationed at Selfridge Field.  They were married for 42 years.  With various job transfers with her husband, Marie and Bill eventually ended up in Tucson.  Marie worked for Valley National Bank for 20 years before retiring.  After Bill had passed away, Marie took up leasing with numerous management companies as a floater. 

She learned to dance and loved to travel with her longtime close friend Robert D. North. 

Marie has 3 children, Robert W. McNew, Edna Marie McConnell, and Jo Ann Patterson (Thomas); 5 grandchildren, Julia Zalewski (Robert), Jason McNew, Jonathan McNew, Joshua McNew (Brenda) and Thomas McConnell; and many great grandchildren whom she loved all.  Visitation and services will be held at East Lawn Palms Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Rd. 

Visitation is on Wednesday April 8, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Services will be on Thursday April 9, 2009 at 10:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
