Soledad “Chole” Muñoz passed away on April 22, 2009 at her home in Pirtleville, AZ. Chole was born on February 15, 1920 to Eleno and Guadalupe Carabeo in Pilares, Sonora, MX. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.


She is preceded in death by her husband Jesus A. Muñoz of 57 years of marriage, sons Jesus L. Muñoz Jr., Rene L. Muñoz, and daughter Suzanne Muñoz. Surviving are daughters Gloria (Daniel) Olszewski, Thelma Muñoz, Lilly (Robert) Vasquez, Liza (Fernando) Muñoz, and Maria Elena Mendez. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chole was a seamstress, loved gardening and cooking. She will be greatly missed.

Rosary will be Monday, May 4, 2009-10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church in Pirtleville, AZ. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Don De Paul, Mark De Paul, Gino Vasquez, Robert Vasquez, Fernando Bojorquez and Rene Muñoz Jr. Honorary-Pallbearers will be Dan Olszewski, Richard De Paul, Edward Muñoz, Libo Muñoz, John Zaragoza, Larry Acosta, and Mario Miranda.

Care entrusted to Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel, 364-2121, Funeral Director Alex Espinosa.

    " Thelma and Lily and rest of family: I know words cannot heal your loss But we are all hoping that you are doin better,and our most sincerest condolences at that time of moment that you went thru. I know it will take a long time to heal your pain, But we all have to accept the loss of our loved ones, it is very hard, i lost my father on 3-10-06, and now my nephew Francisco J. Carranza on 5-15-09, and still cannot and will not forget them, lots of memories are left behind, that's all that happens, BUT they are definitely in a better world and lucky too!
