BISBEE — Mexican officials announced Monday that there are no confirmed cases of swine flu in Sonora, but they have closed all schools in the state as a precaution.

El Imparcial reported that during a press conference, Eduardo Bours Castelo, governor of Sonora, said there were no reported cases in the state.
And, the secretary of health, Raymundo Lopez Vucovich, said hospitals are being monitored and added, “We don’t have any cases, neither suspected, nor verified.”
According to a press release, the Secretary of Education and Culture in Sonora announced the cancellation of classes from kindergarten through university.
The measure applies to students, teachers and staff in public and private schools.
Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta recommended that U.S. travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Mexico.
