According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of April 20, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County remained the same at $1.98 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price went down slightly from $1.92 to $1.91 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices increased from $2.04 to $2.06 during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.51, which is $1.45 higher than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.41, which is $1.50 higher than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.43, which is $1.45 higher than the price from the most recent survey.
