Countywide gas price unchanged

According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of April 6, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County remained the same at $1.98 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price went down from $1.94 to $1.92 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices increased from $1.96 to $2.04 during the two-week period.


In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline increased from $2.07 to $2.08. In Bisbee, the price dropped slightly during the two-week period from $2.03 to $2.02 per gallon. The price in Douglas increased from $1.95 to $1.99 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price went down from $1.98 to $1.97 per gallon. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased from $1.93 to $1.92. In Tombstone, the price decreased during the two-week period from $2.00 to $1.94 per gallon. Willcox saw gas prices stay the same at $2.00 per gallon during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.33, which is $1.29 higher than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.29, which is $1.37 higher than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.33, which is $1.35 higher than the price from the most recent survey.
