Seal coating on Route 80 near Douglas

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 4:05 PM MDT

State Route 80 in the Douglas area next month will be treated with an oil to rejuvenate the asphalt and help prevent potholes, the Arizona Department of Transportation  says.

The oil will be applied May 11-14 on an approximately 10-mile section between Paul Spur Road and North Pan American Avenue.  During that period, one lane in each direction will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

One lane of travel in each direction will be open at all times, ADOT reports, and drivers can expect no more than three-minute delays.

ADOT advises motorists  to watch for construction personnel and public safety officers and to obey all posted speed limit and traffic signs while traveling  through the construction area.
