Douglas will once again host a District 8 all-star tournament.

District 8 officials announced last week the sites for the upcoming all-star tournament.

The 9-10 tournament will take place in Sierra Vista; Douglas will host the 10-11 tournament; the 11-12’s will play in Nogales; 13-14’s in Willcox and the seniors in Nogales.

Tournament pairings will be announced at the next meeting in June. Unofficial start dates for the all-star tournament will be July 6.

State playoff action begins July 17 at the earliest for the 9-10’s and the 10-11’s with the other three divisions to start July 20 or 21.

It is uncertain at press time how many teams will be in Douglas for its tournament. Those details, like the tournament pairings, will be announced in June.

The Douglas all-stars will be announced around closing ceremony time which is scheduled for June 20 at Copper King Stadium.
