High winds knock out power

High winds knocked down a wire that caused an electric outage affecting more than 2,000 Douglas customers.


The outage began at 11:38 p.m. Monday, and ended at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday.

The outage area was from south of 12th Street to the Arizona-Mexico border and from F Avenue to Airport Road.

Not all customers were out the entire time, as some sections of the community began to come back on line until all were up early Tuesday.

    " Not all areas went out at the same time either. When it first happened, all my neighbors across the street still had power, but on my block it was out and then the south side of the next block over had power. Very strange if it was really caused by one downed wire "
