Douglas Police and The Arizona State Gang Task Force (GIITEM) arrested 6 criminal street gang members from Tucson for assaulting two male subjects at the 15th St. Park and for various other crimes including participating in a criminal street gang.

While investigating the incident, police were alerted to a past occurred assault that took place at the 15th St. Park which involved the same gang members. Police responded to SEAMC to meet with the victim’s of the assault. Police were informed that for no apparent reason, the gang members approached three males who were sitting in the park and asked them what gang they were affiliated with. The gang members then proceeded to assault the males with a wooden bat and an expandable police baton. The gang members also robbed the males of a cell phone. Two of the male subjects sustained injuries from the assault and both were driven to SEAMC, by their friend, for medical attention. One of the males sustained a 2” laceration to the head, caused by the expandable baton. The other male sustained various internal injuries to the kidney and liver resulting from a bat strike to the back. After the investigation of that assault, police also charged all of the gang members with the aggravated assault, among other crimes, that took place at the park.
Police arrested the following gang members: Marco Antonio Garcia 12-18-90, Eric Santiago Garcia 6-16-84, Angel Antonio Zazueta 5-28-90, Cruz Geraldo Meza 2-25-91, Adam Charles Hoyer Jr. 9-1-84, and Michael Garcia 5-13-86.
Police charged all gang members with a total of 19 felony crimes including: Disorderly Conduct-a class 6 felony, Aggravated Assault-a class 3 felony, Aggravated Assault-a class 6 felony, Burglary-a class 3 felony, Riot-a class 5 felony, Participating in a Criminal Syndicate-a class 4 felony, Threatening & Intimidating by a Criminal Street Gang Member-a class 6 felony, Participating in or Assisting a Criminal Street Gang-a class 2 felony, Aggravated Robbery-a class 3 felony, and Armed Robbery-a class 2 felony.
The suspects were transported to the Cochise County Jail for detention where they are all being held on a $200,000 bond.
