Jose Angel Lopez passed away on May 24, 2009. Jose was born October 29, 1932 to Miguel Angel Lopez and Carlota Romero in Esqueda, Sonora, Mexico.


Preceding Jose in death are his sons Francisco Lopez, Miguel Angel Lopez, Jose Angel Lopez Jr., daughters Panchita L. Herrera, Maria Elena Lopez, and brother Manuel Lopez. Jose is survived by his loving wife Maria H. Lopez of 59 years of marriage.

Surviving also are his son Martin (Violeta) Lopez, daughters Hilda (Refugio) Padilla, Elvira Lopez, Becky Lope, Irene Paredes, Dora (Dennis) Byrd and brother Miguel Cesar Lopez. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

 Jose was a well known rancher and farmer in Mexico, Morenci and throughout Arizona. He loved the outdoors, horseback riding, cattle herding, plant and grow hay and other crops. Jose worked as a fisherman in Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico. Viewing for Jose will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009-6:00-10:00 p.m. in the main chapel of Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will, Thursday, May 28, 2009-10:30 a.m. with Pastor Fernando Betancourt at Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Martin Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Enrique L. Byrd, Jorge Padilla, Luis Carlos Lopez, and Antonio Paredes. Honorary-Pallbearers are Jose Luis Herrera Jr., Jesse Herrera, Sergio Lopez, Javier Lopez, Martin Lopez Jr., Jose Luis Herrera, Refugio Padilla, and Dennis Byrd.

Care entrusted to Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel, 364-2121, Funeral Director Alex Espinosa.
