Manuel R. Sierra

Manuel R. Sierra went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2009 at the Southeast Arizona Medical Center. 


Sierra was born on September 24, 1906 in Colonia Morelos, Sonora, Mexico.  He has been an Arizona resident for the past 82 years.  He was also a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. 

Mr. Sierra is survived by his sons and daughters; Frank (Bertha) Sierra, Hector (Lupe) Sierra, Julie (Johnny) Montelongo, Alice Gulliver, Carmen Sierra, Loly Arvizu and Josefina Sierra.  He is also survived by numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. 

A Rosary for Manuel was recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel.  A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Malu officiating.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.  May He Rest in Peace.

 Pallbearers who served were Frank Sierra, Hector Sierra, Javier Sierra, Manny Sierra, Manuel Hernandez and Victor Gulliver.  Honorary Pallbearers were Johnny Montelongo, Peter Encinas, Frankie Sierra, Roland Sierra, Hector Sierra, Jr. and Ernie Moreno, Jr.
