" The City has become a Dictatorship, telling us how many animals we could have, what about telling the citizens on how many cars can be parked on their driveway, or on the front lawn, how many pink flamingo could we be put in front of yards as lawn orniments. How many rose bushes is too many, next it will be how many kids we could have, when to eat and where to eat, It is our choice to have to have not, not for you to tell us. As a tax payer and a citizen of Douglas, your priorities stink. Look at our streets, vacant properties, gangs, graffiti, recreation center that does not accomadate the citizens or childer. Our City is in dire need of help. "

" I am confused. If my dog is chained up, it does not need to be given his rabi shot or get a license. But if he gets out, I can be given a ticket for my dog not having his shot or license? Can you make your ordinance more clearer? Your contradicting your own changes. "

" Why is your animal control directing us to call city hall, regarding the recent ordinance change? Are they not capable of answering my simple question? I was informed that he was not in a position to answer my question. If I had a question, to address it to city hall. He was very firm and direct in his answer. Do all your personnal talk so loud? Take a chill pill, Mr. Dog Catcher. "

" If I give up my dogs, will they get killed? Is there a reason as to why the city is not allowing outside assistance, in the form of low-cost/no-cost spay/neutering programs into our city? If the city is in dire need of saving, instead of spending, why do we have so many secretaries within city hall? As a "manager," I'm sure that I am capable of answering my phone and taking messages. Besides, a majority of the time is spent on applying make up, lip gloss and playing with their hair. Last time I checked, city hall was not an extension of our high school. We don't need an assistant to an assistant to an assistant. Got milk? "

" Dogs will be dogs and I'm not talking about the two-legged ones. Is there a reason as to why our shelter is not listed with petfinder(?)?. Is anyone working or looking into adding us to their list? What does the city plan on doing with the increase in stray dogs? Is animal control capable of handling all these strays? If the city can advertise for police officers, why can't they do the same for a vet? I would rather have a new animal shelter built, then spend our dollars in a RV park at the golf course. This is a prime example that animals are on the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to action. Don't forget the next council meeting. Let your bark be heard. "

" What a joke. Two measely dogs. Why are cats given special treatment, over dogs?Does anyone know, if the city keeps count as to how many animals are killed on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis? With the passage of this new ordinance, when will I expect the GRIM REAPER (dog catcher) to knock on my door and kill by babies? These are my babies, that I've raised as my own children. They've been vaccinated and licensed (birth certificate as a baby.) If I am doing my part as a responsible pet owner, why should I get punished? My babies are loving, affectionate and care free animals. Why aren't we punishing those that chain their animals 24/7? Or that are depriving their animals of food, water, shelter, human/animal contact? If you drive around Douglas, you'll see your neighbor, family and friends with animals fitting this description. But, for whatever reason, the dog catcher doesn't care. Just drives around town, trying to look important. I'm paying for these services and laws, along with your paycheck. Overall, why punish the dog for running loose, getting pregnant, starving, being tick/flea infested, injured or worst of all, being killed by a non-caring person? In our court system, those that should be punished, are basically slapped on the hand. It's called customer service in this town! "

" Only in Douglas will we see that our city is getting a load of money....yet there is no news as to what is being built behind the Carl's Jr. Also what is that other building thats almost complete behind Carls Jr???? Im pretty sure Im not the only one who wants to know.....this is a news website for the tiny city of Douglas AZ, right? I mean....how come we dont know what is being built yet? Did I miss a news article.....its okay though, just spend the 34 million dollars on random things like camera's looking for illegal aliens (which WILL not stop the crossings....so why should I care about that?)
