Another public meeting last week resulted in a new board being selected for the local Douglas Youth Football League.

Ken Nelson is the new president. He will be assisted by Eric Cazares who is the vice president, Sandee Nelson is the secretary and Victor Varela will be the treasurer.

The new president said a few more additional individuals may be added to the board in the upcoming days.

Registration will start this Saturday, July 11, at the Douglas Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continue July 18 and 25. Fees for registration were not available at press time and will be announced following another board meeting this week.

Nelson said the big concern right now is getting the equipment from last year returned. Any football player or cheerleader who still has their equipment from last year may call 895-2663 to arrange for a pickup or they may also bring it to registration.

Practice will start in August and the season is expected to begin Sept. 12.
