Oscar Romero Acosta

Mr. Oscar Romero Acosta passed away June 15, 2009, at Southeast AZ Medical Center.  Mr. Acosta was born September 20, 1923 in Dos Cabezas, Arizona. 


He had been a resident of Douglas since 1958.  Mr. Acosta was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, a member of the choir and a Cursillasta.  Mr. Acosta, who always enjoyed a good joke, was known for his love of gardening and his menagerie of animals.  His beloved wife, Eudelia “Nena”, and his loving daughter, Lorenia, preceded him in death. 

Mr. Acosta is survived by his sons, Jesse (Rhea) Acosta of Cave Creek, Oscar (Dana) Acosta of Phoenix, Xavier Acosta of Tucson, David (Karen) Acosta of Douglas, his daughter-in-law, Ana Acosta of Tucson and his grandchildren: David, Kristoffer, Cassandra, Lindsey, Stephanie, Carly, Alex, Karen, Evan, Michael and Serenity. 

Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, at St Luke’s Catholic Church.  Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 19, at St. Luke’s Church.  Interment to follow at Calvary  Cemetery.  Brown Page Mortuary is in charge of arrangements, 364-3434
