Hope T. Verdugo

Mrs. Hope T. Verdugo passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 16, 2009.  Hope was born in Pearce, Arizona on April 19, 1928 to Maria Lopez and Severo Torres and was raised in Pirtleville, Arizona.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband Rogelio Verdugo; Sons Eddie and Ruben Verdugo; Grandson Ralph Rodriguez and her Great Granddaughter Ashley Verdugo.   

Hope is survived by her Daughter, Grace (John) Rodriguez.  Sons, Danny (Elia) Verdugo, Richard (Lupe) Verdugo, Ernie (Delin) Verdugo and Greg Torres.  Former Daughter-in-laws, Yoli Verdugo, Alma Luna, Bertha Verdugo, Linda Verdugo and Yvette Oestrich.  She is also survived by her Sister, Nellie Segovia, Brother, Ralph Torres, 26 Grandchildren, 68 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.

A Rosary for Hope was recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church.  A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 also at St. Luke’s Church with Father Gilbert Malu officiating.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers who served were Danny Verdugo, Jr., Johnny Rodriguez, Jr., Ruben Verdugo, Jr., Ricky Verdugo, Jr., Ernie Verdugo, Jr., Greg Torres, Jr., Roger Rodriguez and Robert Rodriguez.  Honorary Pallbearers were Grace Rodriguez, John Rodriguez, Sr., Danny Verdugo, Sr., Ricky Verdugo, Sr., Ernie Verdugo, Sr. and Greg Torres, Sr.

Brown Page Mortuary was in charge of arrangements, 364-3434

I want you all to know that Hope will always be apart of my life and I wish you all the comfort of knowing that she was a wonderful person to everyone who surrounded themselves with her and your family.
