The Cochise Community Foundation is now inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply for grant funding.

Grant applications must be completed online at the Arizona Community Foundation’s Web site, www.azfoundation.org/grants, and submitted by 5 p.m. Oct. 1.

Applicants must have an updated organizational profile on the foundation’s Web site in order to be eligible for funding. Any 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, public school or other government entity serving Cochise County is eligible. Grants may be awarded in amounts as large as $5,000.

To help organizations prepare their applications, the foundation  will host three free grant workshops across the county. The workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dates and locations are:

•  Sept. 1: City of Douglas Library Meeting Room, 560 E. 10th St., Douglas.

• Sept. 2: City of Willcox Library Meeting Room, 207 W. Maley St. Willcox.

•  Sept. 3: Cochise College Room 900, 901 N. Colombo Ave., Sierra Vista.
