Copies of The Mirage, an arts and literary magazine created by Cochise College students, are now available. A public reception featuring readings of the published work is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Bisbee Community Y, 26 Howell Street, Bisbee.

The Mirage is put together annually by students enrolled in Literary Magazine Production. Submissions are collected from residents of Cochise and Santa Cruz counties and selected for publication by the class. The 2009 edition includes poems, short stories, photographs, and other art. The magazine also contains short biographies of the writers and artists selected for publication.

Copies are available free of charge at the Douglas and Sierra Vista Campus libraries and bookstores and also will be available at the reception. The public is welcome to attend. Anyone needing an accommodation in order to attend should contact the Disability Services Office, (520) 515-5337 or (520) 417-4023, at least 72 hours in advance.

For information about The Mirage or about the Literary Magazine Production class, contact Jay Treiber at the Douglas Campus at (520) 417-4765 or Jeff Sturges at the Sierra Vista Campus at (520) 515-5435 or (520) 417-4765.
