St. Vincent de Paul accepts food donatiolns and thanks Customs and Border Protection officers for their helpo.

Food banks across the country are facing severe shortages of non-perishable items. Customs and Border Protection is encouraging all of their employees to join this nationwide effort to step up and meet this challenge by gathering 1,000,000 pounds of food for families in need.

The CBP Officers of the Douglas POE joined this nation wide effort as they donated various food items and supplies to the St. Vincent De Paul Association who in turn provide personal support and essential care for persons in need.

“We as a nation are facing economic hard times ” said Michael Humphries, Area Port Director for The Douglas and Naco Ports of Entry” and many times these hard times are being compounded by natural disasters. People’s expectations and dreams are being shattered from one day to the next; thank goodness for the assistance of these non-profit organizations and their support to our communities. We our proud to be able to join their selfless service in an attempt to bring relief to those in need”.
