Two Douglas men were robbed of their wallets and their vehicles at gun point Saturday night.

According to Marc Gonzalez of the Douglas Police Dept. at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday Douglas Police officers responded to the area of the 1200 block of 11th St. alleyway on a report of two male subjects having just been robbed at gunpoint.

“The male subjects reported that the robbers took their trucks, a green 1998 Ford F-150 and a gray 2006 Ford F-150,” Gonzalez said. “While en route, police noticed a Gray Ford F-150 eastbound at the 1300 block of 11th St.  Police attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and led police on a short pursuit.”

Gonzalez said the pursuit ended at the 1300 block of 9th St. when the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police were unable to locate the driver of the stolen vehicle.

Gonzalez said while at the scene, police were informed by the victims that they were just arriving back from Sierra Vista and getting out of their vehicles when a male subject wearing black clothing and a ski mask held a gun to the back of one of the victims and ordered him to the ground.

The second victim began to run around the vehicle to assist his brother, but also had a gun shoved into his back and was ordered to the ground by another male subject also wearing black clothes and a ski mask.

“While on the ground, the suspects bound the victim’s hands behind their back with duct tape,” Gonzalez said. “The suspects stole the victim’s wallets and keys to their vehicles and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicles.  The green Ford F-150 was later found by the U.S. Border Patrol abandoned in the Douglas area.”

The victims described the suspects as male Hispanics in their 20s of average height and weight.

Police are investigating the incident for any possible leads. Anyone with information is urged to call the DPD at 364-8422.
