New at this weeks Farmer Market

Produce – Corn, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Green Chiles, Pears, Figs, Apples, Mangos, Onions, Chili peppers, Garlic, Bell peppers, Eggplant

Plants: chiltepins, mint, rosemary herb and garden plant starts.  Plants to use for landscaping, Octillo, shrubs and house plants

Baked goods:  Buy Just Coffee, Fresh Bread, Honey baked sweet breads, honey granola and small fruit pies sweetened with honey also jams and cookies.

Fresh made menudo and tortillas, candy apples.  Much more available

Come to the Douglas Farmers Market to see and buy the growing variety.  Have something to eat, buy fresh produce and socialize with your neighbors. 

Cucumber Salad

INGREDIENTS

2 small pickling cucumbers, peeled, seeded, and diced

1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup low-fat plain yogurt

1/2 teaspoon minced fresh mint leaves

1/2 teaspoon minced fresh dill

DIRECTIONS

Place the cucumber in a colander, sprinkle with salt, and allow to drain for 15 minutes.

Mix the yogurt, mint, and dill in a bowl. Stir in the drained cucumber. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving.
