DPD recovers marijuana

Douglas Police Officers recovered 34 pounds of marijuana, valued at over $15,000 during a recent seizure.


According to Mark Gonzalez of the Douglas Police Department, on July 28 at approximately 1 p.m. detectives from the DPD conducted a search of the residence located at 2151 Merritt Ave in Douglas and discovered 19 bricks of fresh marijuana packaged in gray duct tape.

“Each brick weighed between one and two pounds for a total weight of 34 lbs,” Gonzalez said. “The marijuana was seized as evidence and no arrests have been made.”

Police are continuing the investigation and arrests are pending.
