Three held on sex cases at border

Border Patrol agents this week held at least three illegal immigrants in the region accused of sex-related crimes:


• Agents at Douglas arrested an illegal immigrant from Mexico west of the port of entry after fingerprint records revealed an arrest on an accusation of sexual battery. The person was held for further processing.

• Agents from the Naco station conducted a records check on an illegal immigrant in custody from Mexico. The system revealed the person had been convicted of aggravated sexual assault on a child. The person was held for further processing on Thursday.

• Agents from the Nogales station conducted a records check on an illegal alien in custody from Mexico and discovered the person had been convicted of indecent exposure and sexual battery. The person was held for further processing.

Also this week ...

Border Patrol agents from the Douglas station arrested a person who admitted being associated with the Sureno street gang. The person was arrested Thursday east of the Douglas port of entry and was suspected of being illegally present in the United States. The person was held for further processing after a fingerprint system revealed an arrest on an accusation of grand theft.
