Angel Sierra Grijalva

Longtime Douglas resident, Mrs. Angela S. Grijalva passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Tucson, Arizona.  Mrs. Grijalva was born on April 11, 1915 in Fronteras, Sonora, Mexico to Loretto and Guadalupe Duron Sierra.  She has been a local resident for the past 65 years.  Angela was preceded in death by her husbands, Angel Durazo, Luis Castillo and Frank Grijalva, her son Manuel Durazo and Brother Juan Vasquez.  She is survived by her children Benjamin (Graciela) Castillo, Juan (Selena) Castillo, Guadalupe Castillo Jewell, Frances (Charles) Cato and Loretto (Rudy) Grijalva Delgado.  She also leaves behind her 28 Grandchildren, 91 Great Grandchildren and 29 Great-Great Grandchildren.

A Rosary for Angela was recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 7th at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel.  A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Malu officiating.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers who served were Benjamin Castillo, Juan Castillo, Manuel Durazo, Jr., Manny Flores, Rudy Delgado, Jr., Jesus Castillo, Luis Mendez, Jr., Alex Castillo, Benny Castillo, Jr., Jose Castillo, Juan Castillo, Jr. and Michael Castillo.
