Chip sealing will close 10th Street Friday, Saturday

The City of Douglas and Cochise County will be chip sealing 10th Street from A Avenue to Adams Avenue.  There will be no parking allowed within these construction limits.  All avenues adjacent to 10th Street will remain open and accessible.  The speed limit during construction will be 15 miles per hour.  Vehicular traffic will be restricted and diverted during construction, so plan to use alternate routes during construction and expect traffic delays.


The project work plan and schedule for this project is:

SEPTEMBER 18, 2009

4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.:    Set up traffic control throughout the project limits

6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.:    Chip sealing operations along 10th Street from Adams Avenue to Florida Avenue.  Access to local business and two-way vehicular traffic will be allowed but will be restricted during construction.

9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.:    Chip sealing operations along 10th Street from Florida Avenue to A Avenue.  Access to residential properties along 10th Street will NOT be permitted during construction.  Two-way vehicular traffic will be allowed but will be restricted during construction.

4:00 p.m.:    Normal traffic and vehicular access will resume throughout the project limits, except that there will be no parking allowed and the posted speed limit during construction will be 15 miles per hours.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2009

6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.    Street sweeping and striping operations will be conducted throughout the project limits.  No parking will be allowed along 10th Street within the project limits.

Street sweeping operations in support of the chip sealing project will continue throughout the week.
