Dead Body: Richard Emmett Bernard passed away in his residence located at 8374 E. Rockspring Road in Portal, AZ. Bernard had been diagnosed with medical issues. Adair Funeral home attended to Bernard. An autopsy is pending through Cochise County Medical Examiner, no foul play is suspected.
Dead Body: Hospice care nurse for Hospice advised hospice patient, Richard Alexander, passed away at his residence (2570 N. County Hospital Road).
Dead Body: Concepcion Altamirano was pronounced deceased by Dr. Giuffre, at her home at 824 W. Irvine St in Pirtleville .
Wanted Person: Estevan Carrillo was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor for FTA out of Douglas Police Department in JP# 2. In addition, Carrillo was operating a blue 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, while his drivers license was suspended, an automatic 30 day impound. This incident occurred at 2334 E. Primrose Street in Douglas.
Wanted Person: Alejandro Bravo Dominguez was arrested at the Douglas Border Patrol Station for a felony warrant out of Dallas County, Texas. The warrant was felony possession of marijuana.
Wanted Person: Rafael Garcia Gonzalez was arrested at the Douglas Border Patrol Station for a misdemeanor warrant out of Pinal County, AZ. The warrant was for failure to pay.
Fire: A fire was observed at the residence at 4285 W Hill Road in McNeal AZ. The homeowners were not at home when the fire started. The fire was caused by electrical wires which had been burned due to a fire the night before. The structure was completely destroyed due to the fire.
ELFRIDA
Domestic: Larry Benedum assaulted Pamela Benedum by pushing her down and later recklessly handled a weapon while warning Pamela to stay away from him. Pamela Benedum then slapped Larry Benedum and recklessly handled a weapon while warning Mr. Benedum to leave her keys alone. Both were charged with Domestic Violence Assault and Disorderly Conduct. The male subject was taken into custody and the female cited and released.
Agency Assist: Deputies responded to a report of a bear in a tree on W Jefferson Rd. Game and Fish Officials were notified and handled the situation. The bear was uninjured.
Agency Assist: Deputies made contact with 4 illegal immigrants in the area of MP 20 on W Gleeson Rd. Border Patrol took custody of all four.
Agency Assist: Deputies located two subjects in a field at milepost 28 on N Highway 191. Both subjects were illegal immigrants and were turned over to Border Patrol.
Agency Assist: Deputies located 3 illegal immigrants on Harris Road in Elfrida. All subjects were turned over to Border Patrol.
Agency Assist: An unidentified male subject attempted to smuggle a group of illegal immigrants in an Isuzu Trooper while being pursued by USBP. The vehicle entered private property in the 10000 block of N White Fawn Road and damaged a portion of the fence and a gate. Border Patrol seized the vehicle and all occupants. The driver was not located.
Wanted Subject: Deputies were called to the hotel in Elfrida for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, William Lindsey was determined to be wanted on a warrant out of JP2 and taken into custody.
September 8
DOUGLAS
Wanted Person: Mario Smith was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Failure to pay out of Douglas Police Department. In addition, Smith was operating a blue 1985 Honda while his drivers license was suspended, an automatic 30 day impound.
Drugs: Jennifer Razo had in her right front short pocket possession of a bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. In addition, in Razo’s purse was an eyeglass case with two pipes. One pipe was a glass pipe with white residue and the other had a small amount of marijuana on it. This incident occurred at 15th Street and F-Avenue in Douglas, AZ.
ELFRIDA
Agency Assist: Deputies assisted DPS with a motor vehicle accident involving downed power lines. This incident was 3 miles east of 191 on 181. CCSO provided traffic control until the power line could be repaired.

Wanted Person: Ulysses Arguelles was arrested at Gladiola Ave and Primrose Avenue on a outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas JP #2 for Failure to Appear.
ELFRIDA
Burglary: A male reported a burglary in the 10000 block of E Rock Creek Lane in Sunizona where some food along with two firearms were taken.
September 10
DOUGLAS
Warrant Arrest: Harlan Rupert Lewis was arrested at 314 W Irvine Ave Pirtleville, Az for a misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas, Az JP #2. The warrant was for failure to appear. Harlan was transported to Bisbee Detention.
Agency Assist: Manuel Gonzales Jr. and his mother, Cynthia Villa were arrested in front of the Douglas Port of Entry for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest by GITEM Gang Task Force. CCSO assisted in apprehended the two subjects.
Unwanted Person: Maria Socorro Ormsby was arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Failure to Appear out of AZ DPS, Douglas JP# 2. Prior to Ormsby being arrested, she was unwanted at her mother’s residence, which Sheriff Deputies responded to the incident. This incident occurred in the 400 block of E. Crystal Avenue in Pirtleville, AZ.
Wanted Person: Victor Barrera Ayala was arrested at the Douglas Border Patrol Station for a felony warrant out of Cook County, Illinois the warrant was aggravated DUI / reckless homicide. Subject was booked into CCJ Bisbee.
September 12-13
DOUGLAS
Wanted Person: Dominic Andrew Lopez was arrested and transported to the CCSO-Jail, for an outstanding warrant out of J.P. #2, for failure to pay fines .
Vehicle Theft: Unknown person(s) stole a 1994 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton truck. This happened in the 7400 block of N. Central Hwy in McNeal
ELFRIDA
Non-injury Accident: Mary Ellen Carpenter reported that she had struck a deer at MP 15 on Davis Rd. Carpenter was not injured.
Domestic: Tamara Gibson assaulted a male subject at a residence in the 100 block of N Ford Rd in Sunsites. Gibson was cited and released for DV Disorderly & Assault
Suspicious Vehicle: Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Davis Rd where they discovered a vehicle that was running with no occupants inside parked in the driveway at that location. Border Patrol was searching for a group of illegal immigrants in the area and it was determined that they had fled from this vehicle.
