Viviano “Vivi” Dominguez

Viviano “Vivi” Dominguez, 59, a former resident of Douglas and current resident of Silver City, New Mexico, entered eternal rest Sunday, August 23, 2009, at the Gila Regional Medical Center.


He was born June 7, 1950, in Douglas, and graduated from Douglas High School. He retired from Phelps Dodge Mining Company and became a meat cutter for Albertsons..

He was a Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing, plants, family gatherings and cooking.

He is survived by his former spouse , Queta Dominguez of Douglas, five sons, Bobby Dominguez of Douglas; Viviano “Chichi” Dominguez, Jr., of Douglas; Ernie (Diana) Dominguez of California; Ricky (Beverly) Dominguez of Douglas; and James Dominguez of Silver City; Two brothers, Pablo Dominguez of Tucson and Eddie Dominguez of San Manuel, Arizona; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, the Dominguez family,  Sierra family and Gulliver family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Maria Elena Dominguez; two brothers, Bobby Dominguez and Frankie Dominguez.

A Memorial service took place on Friday, August 28, at 2 p.m. in Silver City, New Mexico.

He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He was a hard-working, good-spirited person, loved by everyone who knew him.
