The Douglas Unified School Board looks to take additional action against Superintendent Earl Pettit on Monday, including reassignment.

The meeting is scheduled to start on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Administration Building on 10th Street.

KGUN news reported that the Arizona Attorney General has opened an open meeting violation investigation against the governing board, allegedly based in part on questions about written communication between Board member Ed Rivera and Superintendent Pettit.

The Dispatch is continuing its attempts to get further information from Terry Goddard’s Office.

" Why is it that myself and others I know have posted comments in support of Hoyack and none of them are ever printed on-line? HMMMM sounds fishy to me. Maybe some Dispatch/Blaskey bias going on here? "

" I wonder how many of you all that post blogs actually attend any of the board meetings which are open to the public. well i do and I cant understand how any one can support this guy. I hear teachers advocating for students and their needs(student) not being met. I hear how parents and gaurdians try to resolve their issues and are treated disrespectfully and are victims of our current superintendant. Mr. hoyack, Mr. Rivera and Mrs. Lopez have the best interst of our childrens education and well being in mind, I support them all the way they have done a fine job. Please to you three dont loose heart and keep up the excellent work. thank you "

Your performance at tonites board meeting was absolutely revolting! Are you totally without a backbone or what???? You could have done the right thing tonite and saved the Douglas School District from a terrible Superintendent. Mr. Hoyack and Ms. Lopez: Our total respect and gratitude. "

" Unfortunately, for all of Douglas Unified School District employees, the Douglas citizans have elected your school board members. From my experience, while employeed by the Douglas Unified School District, the school board has always had a personal agenda and that agenda has nothing to do with the welfare of the students or the employees the the Douglas Unified School District. You as employees should to join together and start a campain to impeach all of the current school board members and elect new school board members that are looking out for the welfare of the students and employees.

Remember anyone can be a school board member including employees of the district. It does not require any special education or any special experience. The only way the District will improve is by you the employees taking action. "

Hoyack do the right thing and STEP DOWN NOW!! "

This is your doing Rivera and Hoyack wrote on Oct 5, 2009 9:25 AM:

" Why do you insist in dragging our district through this ugliness? It just doesn't seem to stop! Now DUSD has hit the news. The Attorney General has confirmed that he is investigating the Board? Are you kidding? What are you trying to cover up by getting rid of the superintendent? Rivera and Hoyack, you’re classic narcissists. This is embarrassing and both of you should be removed. Lopez, you are a sweet lady but no leader, you are following someone that has led you down a path of lies and now look what has happened to our District. Community members, staff, and students have lost so much confidence and respect in our district. Voters may not pass the bond election. How is any of what you are doing going to benefit the district? "

" So, I wonder if last year at the end of the board meeting when Chuck made the motion to reconvene to discuss the possible termination of Mr. Petitt, and how it was not on the publically posted agenda, and took him by surprise, would that also be considered a violation of the open meeting law? It wasn't on the agenda, the party did not know that was going to come up, so I think it was. "

" Well Hoyack, Rivera, and Lopez you did it now. Hope you're happy. Not only have you succeeded to make our district a laughing stalk, but now you have disgraced it. We are about to get state wide attention . You had to have been thinking that if you bullied the superintendent long enough he’d eventually give up and walk away with his tail between his legs. Perhaps this time you’ve met your match. Rivera and Lopez, do you REALLY believe that the superintendent is so bad that he should be fired, especially this way? Seems to a lot of us that you are being led by Hoyack and you can’t think for yourselves. So, you’re going to go down with him too. You SURE you want to do that? Does Hoyack have some kind of voodoo on you two? It is obvious you are being railroaded and now it will all be made public. Shame on the three of you. You are a real piece of work. Who in their right mind would ever want to come to Douglas now? Heaven forbid you try to make Simmons or Marston the next superintendent. I’m glad my last kid is a senior . I can stop caring about her welfare due to a corrupt board. And, OMG why is Hoyacks wife on DHS PTSO? What were the parents thinking? Didn't they learn from what she is doing to the district too? It's all just too insane. "
