Sew Piece-ful quilt show on Nov. 7 Sew Piece-ful Quilt Show will be held during the first week in November at the Art Gallery, located at 625 10th Street. But the group does much more than just host its annual show. It donates homemade quilts, aprons, placemats and other needed items to the House of Hope and displays its works at the Douglas High School Library and in the Children’s Room of the Douglas Public Library. The group, which meets the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to noon, draws members from all over the area. They come as far away as Rodeo, New Mexico, and also drive to Douglas from the Sulphur Springs Valley, Double Adobe, and Hereford. Sew Piece-ful is currently raffling off a quilt made by its members and the proceeds will go to the Douglas Art Association. The cost is $1 each of 6 tickets for $5. They may be purchased from a member or at The Gallery, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. There is free admission and the quilts will be on display until November 21.
