ELFRIDA      

Animal Problem: ACO Officers removed 17 dogs from a residence on Webb Road in Elfrida. The owner  is currently in custody on two misdemeanor warrants. Many of the dogs were unable to get water and some had no shelter. Some of the animals have been medically neglected.  

October 7

ELFRIDA                                                                

Domestic:  Deputies are investigating a domestic reported by a female who lives on Whispering Pine Ln in Elfrida.  The female advised that her husband had assaulted her and put a knife to her throat.    

Criminal Damage:  Unknown subject(s) drove into a green panel fence belonging to the County Road Department on W Thompson Rd.  Damage estimated at $150. 

October 8

DOUGLAS                                                                   

Assault:  Vincent Smith and Wolfgang Perez went to a residence on Gladiola in Douglas. When they arrived Wolfgang went to the house and found a male subject and punched him in the face. The male subject attempted to fight back but was unable to hit Wolfgang. Wolfgang grabbed a steel pipe and hit the male across the face with it causing a 1” laceration. Smith saw the two fighting and went to assist Wolfgang. Smith grabbed a 2x4 and hit a female at the residence with it. Wolfgang and Smith left the area on foot. Both were arrested and transported to CCSO Bisbee Jail.

Non-injury Accident:  Deputies responded to Margie’s Restaurant in Sunsites for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the parking lot.

October 10-11

ELFRIDA                                                                      

Accidental Death:  On 10-10-09, Eugene Ruegg was attempting to start a hay press loader manually.  The loader started and was in gear and ran over him.  Due to Ruegg’s Condition, he was flown to University Medical Center in Tucson.  Rueggs died as he was being transferred into the helicopter from the ambulance.  Ruegg was pronounced dead upon arrival at UMC.

Suspicious:  A female reported that a male subject in the area of Highway 181 yelling something in a foreign language.  Deputies responded to the area and discovered an illegal immigrant who was cold and needed water.  Subject was turned over to Border Patrol.

Burglary:  Sometime between 072309 and 100909, unknown subject(s) entered a residence on E Highway 181 in Sunizona and unlawfully obtained clothing, food, and movies from the Pay-Per-View on her television.  The caller estimates value of the property at $500.  Investigation continues.
