Douglas Port continues to extend hours of commercial-cargo service

The Douglas International Port Authority’s commercial cargo facility will continue to provide two hours of service on Saturdays to the international trade community.

In addition, officials working at the adjacent Agua Prieta, Sonora, facility in Mexico will also increase their level of service by adopting the expanded hours of operation. Under the extended hours, the cargo facility will be open on Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m.

The current weekday hours remain the same — Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays. The mission of the authority is to promote trade and commerce.

High on its priority list are the expansion and further development of the port, the new commercial port of entry and enhanced pedestrian services. The Saturday hours are expected to help binational business traffic.
