Gas prices drop across county

According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of October 5, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County decreased from $2.53 to $2.45 per gallon over the preceding two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price decreased from $2.56 to $2.45 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices decreased from $2.55 to $2.47 during the two-week period.


In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline dropped from $2.62 to $2.45 per gallon. In Bisbee, the price decreased during the two-week period from $2.57 to $2.53. The price in Douglas decreased from $2.57 to $2.54 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price declined from $2.54 to $2.45. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased from $2.46 to $2.34. In Tombstone, the price decreased during the two-week period from $2.48 to $2.32. Willcox saw gas prices decrease from $2.52 to $2.45 during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.48, which is $1.01 higher than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.40, which is 95 cents higher than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.40, which is 95 cents higher than the price from the most recent survey.
