TUCSON - The Douglas High School swim teams closed out their regular season Thursday with a dual meet at Gila Regional foe Palo Verde.

The Bulldog swimmers posted a 49-33 win while the Lady Bulldogs fell 63-25.

With the regional meet at CDO High School in Tucson this Friday and Saturday, Douglas’ swim coach Michelle Cardenas her team had some of its lowest times of the season Thursday which is not what she wanted to see going into regionals.

“We have a lot of work to do,” she said.

The coach went as far as calling a 6:30 a.m. practice this past Saturday. Coach Cardenas said both her teams have the potential to finish in the top two this weekend which could be the highest finish ever for a DHS team but they have to improve their times if they want to do that.
