After weeks of receiving nominations, the final selection has been made for Citizens of the Year and Businesses of the Year by the Greater Douglas Chamber of Commerce.

These special citizens and businesses will be honored during the Chamber’s annual banquet, which will be held on Friday, November 6, at the Douglas Country Club.  Cost of tickets are only $25 and can be purchased from Chamber Board members or at the Douglas Dispatch.

Keynote speaker during the event will be Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard.

Selected as Man and Woman of the Year  are Edward Page and Cathy Keiser.

The Large Business of the Year is Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Small Business is Roy Clark and Baxter Plumbing, while the New Business of the Year is the ACCT Call Center.

This year, the Chamber also awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards to Jesus “Chuy” Escarcega and Bob Fernandez.

In her nomination of Kaiser, Helen Murphy said, “Cathy is distinguished by her tireless dedication; sometimes the many hours she donates to the Art Association and The Gallery would probably exceed those of a full-time job. She also belongs to the Sew-Pieceful Quilting Guild of Douglas which creates and donates a beautiful quilt that is donated to the Art Association .”
