Servicemen/women who have received packages in the past often talk about how great it had been to receive something from Home.
“We certainly hope that we can count on your participation in this project for those who defend out freedom.,” said an American Legion Auxiliary representative.
“Your donation may be in the form of materials, or perhaps a cash donation to help pay for postage. Below is a list of suggested materials.
√ Trail Mix
√ Beef Jerky
√ Granola Bars
√ Magazines
√ Kool Aid
√ Chapstick
√ Sunflower seeds
√ Microwave popcorn
√ Pringle Chips
√ Hard Candy
√ Instant drinks (sweetened)
√ Crackers
One Unit asked a Vietnam Veteran what he would have liked to receive and he answered, “Emery boards, clear nail polish, pen and paper.” The American Legion Auxiliary is also endeavoring to get a ‘Douglas’ t-shirt made for them, to be included in the packages. We welcome your ideas on what you would like to send and monetary donations are always welcome.
If you have any questions, want more information, or need help deciding what to send please call Karen Smith at (520) 362-7603.
