Art Robinson died peacefully at home in Safford, Arizona on October 23, 2009. 


He was born on September 18, 1940 in Pirtleville, Arizona, to Carlos and Rosa Robinson. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 22 years Connie Robinson, children Art(Annette) Robinson, Cindy(Rudy) Lopez, Anthony Robinson, Ken Robinson and Charles(Sherry) Robinson, grandchildren Artie Robinson, Tonio Lopez, Lizette Robinson, Marco Lopez, Gianna Robinson and Rachel Lopez. He is also survived by sisters Reyes Colvin of Safford and Julia Arvizu of Chandler, AZ and several nephews and nieces in Arizona and California.  He is preceeded in death by sisters Emma Sanchez, Isabel Zaroni and brothers Carlos, Reuben and Frank Robinson. 

Art attended school in Pirtleville, Solomon and Douglas where he graduated in 1959.  While attending school in Solomon and Douglas he was active in sports.  His favorite sport was basketball. He was very appreciative of the support he received from the Safford School District.  He worked during and after high school in the retail business.  He worked for Phelps Dodge Inc. and retired in 1990 from the Bureau of Land Management.   

Recitation of the Rosary will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford, Arizona.  Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Luncheon following the mass will be held at the American Legion Post #95 in Solomon, Arizona. 

A burial mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Pirtleville, AZ at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009.  Burial services will follow the mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Pirtleville, AZ.
