Diverse discussions covering everything from sustainable ranching to worldwide slavery are part of the fall 2009 series of free lunch lectures sponsored by the Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning.

This semester, the lectures at the Douglas Campus will take place from 12:10 to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 16 through Dec. 2. All Brown Bag Wednesday lectures are free and open to the public.

Featuring a different topic and presenter each week, the presentations take place in the Student Union.

Brown Bag schedule

Wednesday, November 18  – Japanese Core Values  with Dr. J.D. Rottweiler, Cochise College president. How does Japan, a country with limited natural resources, move from relative isolation to  world prominence and beyond? Take a comparative sociological look at the  values that influence the Japanese way of life.

• Wednesday, December 2  – Evenings in Paris  with Rebecca Orozco. Given an unstructured week in Paris, what would you  do? Amble the streets, sample the cafes, churches and museums, and  celebrate with Becky as she explores the City of Light.
