Tucson boy caught wWith $30,000 of Marijuana at Douglas Port of Entry  

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers stopped a drug-smuggling attempt when they seized an ice chest that contained approximately 20 pounds of marijuana.  

On Wednesday the 14th at about 8 p.m., CBP Officers were screening travelers when they became suspicious of a 17-year-old boy driving a 2001 Crown Victoria. The boy was identified as a resident of Tucson,  Arizona. A CBP K-9 Narcotics Detection Team searched the vehicle. The k-9 showed a strong interest in the ice chest full of food, sitting on the back seat of the Crown Victoria. The CBP Officers suspected that the ice chest contained more than just food.  Using high-tech X-ray machine, the CBP Officers discovered that the sides of the ice chest were loaded with packages of marijuana. Approximately 20 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $30,000 was removed from the ice chest.

CBP Officers seized the vehicle and marijuana. The Tucson boy was held for further questioning and released to his custodial parent.

The Office of Field Operations is responsible for securing our borders at the ports of entry.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers’ primary mission is anti-terrorism; they screen all people, vehicles, and goods entering the United States, while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel into and out of the United States.   Their mission also includes carrying out traditional border-related responsibilities, including narcotics interdiction, enforcing immigration law, protecting the nation’s food supply and agriculture industry from pests and diseases, and enforcing trade laws.

BP  stops two vehicles Oct. 15 transporting total of 35 illegal aliens

Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Douglas Station assisted the Douglas Police Department and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office in interdicting two vehicles Thursday afternoon, traveling different routes, and transporting a total of 35 illegal aliens from Mexico.  All subjects were held for further processing.

Failure to pay Child Support  a  serious offense   

DOUGLAS, Arizona —U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers arrested a man that was attempting to enter the United States; he had been hiding out in Mexico to avoid paying child support.    

On Saturday the 17th at about 4p.m., CBP Officers were screening travelers when they came in contact with a suspicious 30-year-old man and a resident of Detroit, Michigan. Further investigation revealed that the man had an active warrant out of  the state of Michigan for Failure to Pay Child Support. CBP Officers arrested the man and turned him over to local authorities. The man was extradited back to Michigan to face charges.  

Border Patrol arrest three criminal aliens over the weekend

Border Patrol Agents in Douglas arrested three criminal aliens over the weekend. One alien apprehended Friday afternoon had been arrested for felony forgery and impersonation.  Record checks on two individuals apprehended Sunday showed one subject had been arrested for rape and another for “Sex with a Minor, Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child.”
