FRED TELLES a lifelong Arizona Rancher died at his home on the Bayo Ranch near Willcox on


February 2, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born in Benson on April 7, 1922 to Juan and Juanita Hughes Telles. Fred began his career at the family homestead in Elgin, AZ. He continued his life as a cattleman at the Stearns Family Rose Tree Ranch. Fred then worked at the Bar C L ranch in the Courtland/Pearce area.

In 1959 he purchased a ranch in Gleason and in 1976 moved to the Bayo ranch. In 1986 Fred bought another ranch in Animas, NM. He was a graduate of Patagonia High School, a member of the Willcox Elks Lodge, Lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Assoc., Past member of the Cochise County Sheriff Posse and a member of the Paint Horse Assoc. Survivors include his sons Jack (Linda)

of Tombstone and Alfred (Jennifer) of Willcox and his daughter Helen (Steve) Justice of Willcox, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife Carol Stearns Telles, his parents, and his sisters Ruth Felix, Dora Salcido, Anita Gastelum, Margaret Lowe, Lela Lowe, and Boots Rivera, and his brothers Ralph and Richard

Telles.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Westlawn Chapel with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made to your Charity of Choice. Services entrusted to Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematory of Willcox, AZ.
