The 14th annual Portal Rescue Soup Kitchen Fund-raiser will be held next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (February 8, 9, and 10) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Portal Rescue Classroom in Portal. The $7.00 meal includes two savory soups, two delectable breads, a dessert, and a beverage. All proceeds go to Portal Rescue, the area’s volunteer fire and rescue service.

This year they include a one-hour scenic plane ride with Chamberlain Aviation, $100 worth of Arizona Lottery Tickets, a dog or cat exam and vaccination from Dr. Michael John of High Desert Vet Service, and a $50.00 gift certificate from Chiricahua Desert Museum. Local artists have donated many works of art, including: an original watercolor, “Winter Sycamores,” by Marge Fagan; an original oil painting, “Summer’s Promise,” by Jean Bohlender; a print of a Whiskered Screech-Owl by Narca Moore-Craig; a print of a Baby Scrub Jay by Dave Utterback; two prints, “Window Seat” and “Lady in Blue Hat,” by Roger McKasson;and a carving of a Bridled Titmouse by Bill Reinbold.
Tickets are available at the door for only $1.00 each. The drawing will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m.
