An agreement to be signed Thursday, March 11 paves the way for Cochise College students enrolled in certain academic programs to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Cochise College students earning a variety of degrees in aviation, business, computer information systems and intelligence operations soon will be able to transfer up to 60 credits into bachelor of science in professional aeronautics, aviation business administration, and technical management degree programs at ERAU’s new Fort Huachuca teaching center.

“Students gain a strong foundation at Cochise College, and this arrangement provides them with additional opportunities to build on what they’ve learned and to further enhance their potential,” said Dr. Verlyn Fick, vice president for instruction. “Embry-Riddle’s new location in Cochise County also brings these opportunities close to home.”

The official signing will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11 in the Andrea Cracchiolo Library at the Sierra Vista Campus of Cochise College.

The agreement provides seamless transfer for qualified students and demonstrates how institutions can work collaboratively to help students attain their goals in a timely manner, said Kelly Lawton, ERAU director of academic support.

“We welcome our new partnership with Cochise College,” Lawton said. “It opens up an exciting opportunity for students to continue their higher education and complete a bachelor’s degree at the world’s premier aviation and aerospace university.”
