Douglas Police are still investigating the seizure of more than 140 pounds of marijuana discovered more than a month ago.

On January 26, at approximately 5 p.m., Douglas Police Detectives received information of a Plymouth Voyager van with New Mexico license plates in the Douglas area possibly loaded with narcotics.

Further investigation lead detectives to a residence at the 600 block of 16th St. where they located the van parked in the driveway of the property.

A search warrant was obtained and the subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 167 small packages of marijuana which had a total weight of 139.8pounds.

The marijuana packages were found inside the passenger compartment as well as hidden false compartments also inside the van.  The marijuana and the vehicle were seized.
