The Douglas Unified School District Governing Board moved forward with projects approved as part of the November Bond Election during its March 2 meeting.

The lease requires the school district to notify the city 90 days before beginning discussion on any changes, upgrading the liability insurance as well as updating the facilities information.
During the meeting, the board also reviewed the Bond schedule.
The $7.4 million bond issue calls for the startup of some of the construction as early as May.
The projects approved and projected costs include:
√ Clawson Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room, $1.365 million.
√ Stadium Athletic Field artificial turf, $800,000
√ Stadium Fieldhouse, $788,259.
√ Stevenson Elementary School renovations, $374,174.
√ Paul Huber Middle School door replacement, $124,430
√ Douglas High School Americans with Disabilities Act renovations, $776,241.
√ District-wide roofing renovations, $3,214,073.
Site visits to the football field has already been completed. Proposals from interested bidders are and presentations were concluded in February.
The selection of the contractor will take place in March and the district will issue the purchase order to begin the work in April.
Most of the work is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of August, including the artificial turf, district-wide roofing and renovations and the DHS ADA improvements. The athletic fieldhouse will not be completed until October 29, and the Clawson Multi-Purpose Room will be finished in December.
