Cochise College presents medieval music concert by LIBER

A cappella vocal quartet LIBER will perform “Crowned with Laurels,” a free concert of French and Italian medieval music, in a debut performance in Bisbee March 24, just prior to a tour of San Francisco, Chicago and Europe.

 In the concert presented by Cochise College, the performance at 7 p.m. at the Central School Project, 42 Howell Ave., Bisbee, includes musical settings of poems by Petrarch, Boccaccio, Deschamps and others.

Since its founding in 1996, vocal ensemble LIBER has soared to prominence for its warm, compelling, and assured performances of medieval and Renaissance a cappella music. The ensemble’s rich sound, impeccable tuning, and inventive programming have drawn enthusiastic audiences throughout the United States and Europe. Led by artistic directors Melanie Germond and William Hudson, the critically-acclaimed ensemble is committed to bringing ancient music to life. Their recording of the program “Crowned with Laurels” will be released Fall 2010.
