The Elfrida Elementary Mustangs boys participated in the Valley Conference basketball championship tournament February 20 in Bowie.. In the first game of the tournament the boys beat Bonita (36-34) to advance to the championship round. The boys had a great season and ended up in second place losing to Bowie 41-39 in a nail biting overtime game.
